The Space Elevator Reference: Space Elevator Games Qualification Update

Climbers ascend a ribbon, 100,000 km long, strung between an anchor on Earth and a counterweight in space. Connecting Earth and space in a way never before possible, the space elevator will enable us to inexpensively and completely expand our society into space.

This site will serve as a reference tool for those interested in exchanging ideas on the scientific, engineering, economic and policy challenges inherent in constructing the solar system's first space elevator.

Space Elevator Games Qualification Update

Bryan laubscher has sent in a few pictures from yesterday's qualification by the Kansas City Space Pirates. Also qualified for the competition on Friday are TurboCrawler from Germany, the University of Michigan with Climber 1 and LiteWon from Westmont High School in Campbell (correction, not Pasadena), California.

It sounds intresting of space elevator. Nothing is impossible in this world. But one thing it strike in my mind as the earth rotate on its axis and round the sun to calculate the speed of elevator to the space station?
